KEITH GORDON

Fight For Children
President & CEO

Keith Gordon is President and CEO of Fight For Children, an organization dedicated to championing strategic improvement in education in the District. Since joining Fight for Children as Chief Operating Officer in 2015, Gordon is responsible for the organization’s marketing, development, human resources, finance, and strategic planning functions, as well as the continued growth of Fight For Children’s main fundraiser, Fight Night.

Previously, Gordon served as President of National Football League Players Incorporated (NFLPI), the commercial subsidiary of the National Football League Players Association. At NFLPI, he spent six years successfully leading the organization through the 2011 NFL Lockout and into a key period of growth, expansion, and record revenues. Prior to NFLPI, Gordon held positions at The Lavidge Company in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he oversaw its sports marketing division. He also spent seven years at the National Basketball Association, where he was part of the marketing and business operations group and ultimately led business development for global merchandising.

Gordon has a B.A. in political science from Arizona State University and is active in many civic and community-based groups in the region, including the DC chapter of the Young Presidents Organization.

In June of 2000, Venture Philanthropy Partners opened it doors, spurred by the efforts of three founders who asked themselves,
“Could the business world provide a different, innovative approach to social change?”

In the years that followed, VPP quickly became a strategic hub for high-impact investments through deep and sustained partnerships with foundations, businesses, government agencies and school systems.

In April of 2020, VPP formed a strategic alliance with Raise DC to build an investment organization capable of driving alignment among communities, and nonprofit, business and regional leaders around systems change. VPP+Raise DC committed to call out and confront policies, practices and systems that contribute to racial inequity.

Today, we recognize the need to do more, be bolder, and act faster. Youth Invest Partners is a call to “dream big and do big” to drive change that will build better futures for Greater Washington youth today and in the days, months and years to come. Our new name and brand reflects energy and focus as we collaborate, innovate and transform.
