Winners Announced
Raise DC is thrilled to fund the Data Spotlight Awards, which shine a light on nonprofit organizations and local education agencies that use education data in innovative and impactful ways to address challenges District youth face, from cradle to career.

Each winning organization or LEA received a $10,000 award, thanks to the generous support of the Office of the State Superintendent of Education.
JUDGING PROCESS & PANEL
Through a rigorous independent judging process, each Data Spotlight application was reviewed in summer 2015 by multiple data and education experts and given a score based on the submission's connection to one of Raise DC's five high-level goals, its innovative use of data, its actionable outcomes, and its potential scalability to other organizations or schools.
The judging panel included 15 members from the following organizations:
- Annie E. Casey Foundation
- Brookings Institution
- Data Quality Campaign
- Deloitte
- Office of the State Superintendent of Education
- Office of the Deputy Mayor for Education
- StriveTogether
- The Community Foundation for the National Capital Region
- Tembo Inc.
- Urban Institute
